Artisans from tribal nations such as the Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota face challenges in capitalizing on their crafts due to inadequate market access and lack of resources to promote their work. In many cases, artisans rely on informal venues to sell their products, which does not adequately reflect the quality and value of their art.
